Beginning January 2027, the new Federal Tax Credit Scholarship Program, part of the One Big Beautiful Bill, allows individuals to direct up to $1,700 of their federal taxes to K-12 education. In exchange, the taxpayer will receive a 100% federal tax credit for their contribution. These funds can be used for educational expenses for income qualifying families from private school tuition scholarships to reimbursement for educational-related expenses, such as laptops, books, field trips, tutoring and more. Designed to complement, not replace the Pennsylvania EITC program, this new federal program provides an unprecedented opportunity to expand access and strengthen Jewish education for our region’s schools and families.
